SKYDIVE HAPPENING LATE JULY 2021.
I have decided to do a charity tandem skydive to finish off this crazy year. I will be doing it in January now, due to current weather in Portugal (the skydive location). It has been a goal of mine for a long time so why not! I will be splitting the donations between Diabetes UK, Parkinsons UK and Al-Sabeen Hospital in Sana'a, Yemen. Any donation, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated! THE MONEY RAISED WILL GO TO THE CHARITIES - I am paying for the trip myself as it is something I wanted to do anyway. Read more about the charities below... Diabetes and Parkinson’s Disease are conditions that affect some of my family members so are causes close to home. Diabetes UK is a British-based patient, healthcare professional and research charity that has been described as "one of the foremost diabetes charities in the UK". The charity campaigns for improvements in the care and treatment of people with diabetes. Parkinson's UK is a Parkinson's research and support charity in the United Kingdom. Its aims are to improve the quality of life for people affected by Parkinson's and find a cure for the condition. https://www.diabetes.org.uk https://www.parkinsons.org.uk Al-Sabeen Hospital is the only centre in Yemen with a functioning Paediatric Intensive Care Unit and children can still access adequate medical care there. Health workers at the hospital are treating children affected by war, severe and acute malnutrition, Cholera, Diptheria, Malaria, Dengue and COVID-19. Yemen has endured over five and a half years of war an is the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. Al-Sabeen paediatric unit is led by alumni who completed their post-graduate studies at Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in Liverpool and solidarity fundraising in Liverpool continues through Liverpool Yemeni’s community, Habibti community group, staff at LSTM and many more. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07zr0rr
