Charity MMA fight to raise money for the MS society
On the 20th of December I will be competing in a charity MMA fight at the Olympia, raising money for the Multiple Sclerosis society.
The MS society has always been a charity close to me, with my dad being a key member in the organisation for over 10 years. He has organised countless fundraisers and charity events for them in this time, along with pushing his own physical capabilities and efforts to raise money and awareness.
My dad was diagnosed with primary progressive MS 14 years ago, forcing him to give up the career he loved in the police. In this time, he’s done everything from exercises, physios and countless trial operations all over the UK to try and help him live with this disease, but as a family we know that nothing has helped him as much as the MS society since the day he was diagnosed. From supporting him with the knowledge of what is to come since day 1, to helping support his family with adjusting to life with MS, the charity even provided help with equipping the house we live in with certain things to make his life less stressful on a daily basis. Through all the tough times we’ve faced since the day my dad first got diagnosed, the MS society has been there for us, and that’s why I had to take this opportunity to try and raise some money to support their amazing charity and help other families in similar situations. Thank you to anyone who chooses to support me on the runup to this fight and to anyone who donates along the way. All of your support is recognised and greatly appreciated – thank you!
