Charisse has been a member of the Detroit City Chess Club for 7 years. In 2018, at age 13, she became the first player from Detroit to qualify for and attend the World Youth Chess Championship in Halkidiki Greece. In 2018 she also was honored to be the captain of the Detroit All-City Dream Team. This year she is raising money to help with the remaining costs of her trip to Mumbai, India from October 1st-13th, where she will compete with the US Girls U14 team in the 2019
World Youth Chess Championship . Charisse will use any additional funds towards chess training and to attend more national and international tournaments, as she pursues her goal of earning the title of Master.
