We hope this message finds you well. We are reaching out to you to share some news about a beloved family member who is currently facing a challenging health situation.

Our dear sister Charisse Lindsay, daughter of the late William “Bill” Lindsay, has been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. Multiple myeloma (MM) is a rare type of blood cancer. This rare cancer disproportionately impacts African Americans. Because it’s uncommon and because of challenges within the healthcare system, Multiple Myeloma is often overlooked—especially in African Americans. As a result, the disease can go undetected until it has already progressed and spread through the body.

Charisse is experiencing an “Active” stage of MM. In this stage a number of MM cancer cells have started to spread to other parts of the body and need to be treated. This is the most advanced stage of MM and she is experiencing damage to bones, red blood cells, and organs.

This unexpected turn of events has not only taken a toll on Charisse’s physical well-being but has also placed a significant financial burden on her. As medical bills and personal expenses pile up, we would like to assist with the necessary support Charisse needs.

We have set up a GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate some of the financial stress. We understand that times are tough for everyone, but any contribution, no matter how large or small, would make a world of difference during this trying time.
