Char Haugen's liver treatment fund!

My beautiful wife Charlene has had Hepititis C since 1978. She worked as a Medical Technologist for 40 + years. Charlene falls into the 33 percentile of Healthcare workers that contract the virus due to no fault of their own.
I have known Charlene, or Char, as family and friends call her for over 10 years. We've been together since 2006 and we have been married since June, 2015. I can confidently attest that alcohol or drugs have never been a part of her life. She has always deterred from treatment because the past treatment was so harsh and her liver enzymes and viral load were always on the lower side of the spectrum. Char has recently started seeing a new Doctor and has now been told that her lab values do not accurately reflect the extensive liver damage that she has, as seen on liver biopsies. She has been told that she has Stage 4 liver disease. This means Char probably has cirrhosis of the liver which cannot be reversed but can be stopped with the treament which she has already started. This works by eradicating the Hep C virus. Char started Harvoni on Feb 8th and will do a 12 week regimine.
Char and I will be going to Mayo clinic in Phoenix mid April so that she can undergo a FibroScan. This exam will tell us if Char has liver cancer or not. Despite the outcome of this test, Char will be having many other medical exams including Nuclear medicine scans, CT scans, Ultrasounds, etc.. This is where your help will be much needed. All of these tests will aide in determining if Char is eligble for a liver transplant.
You see, the cost of these types of scans add up very quickly not to mention all of the visits to the Physicians. Our insurance will cover 75% but when you're talking over $100,000 dollars that still leaves us with a hefty bill.
Anyone who has ever met Char will say she is the friendliest most sincere girl. She is "auntie" to more young people and kids than I can count. She is patient, kind, caring, organized, a great listener and a go-getter.
When Char sets her mind to something and wants to get it done ASAP. Her moving forward with all this bad news on her plate is no different. She will fight with all she has!
All donations will be used for Char's treatment going forward. Char has been unable to work much since February 26th, 2016.
