Chapter One: A Library Renovation!

I have the opportunity to work as a media specialist this school year! I will be working with students from kindergarten to 5th grade. I will teach every student in my elementary school building about the wonders of reading, research, digital citizenship, and will help them find books that are "just right" for them.

I am inheriting a beautiful library, but would like to make it more of my style. The environment of a classroom/library is extremely important to me and an inviting atmosphere will help set me and my students up for success this school year. I would like to paint, purchase new rugs, add some storage solutions, create a personal collection of books for lessons, update the art, etc. before the school year begins. Donations will go towards creating an inspiring space that students will want to spend time in. Many students will be impacted by this project and my goal is to make the library/time spent in the library a core memory for my students.
