Chapple family’s twin journey

Hello, we are Cody and Courtney Chapple. We were pregnant with twin boys and on January 15, 2025 and was admitted into the hospital labor and delivery unit due to extremely high blood pressure issues and was diagnosed with severe preeclampsia at 24 weeks. Courtney was having to be monitored daily and constantly treated for the chronic blood pressure issues and both babies were having to be monitored to ensure their heart rates looked good and that they were not going into distress. We were told at that point we were going to be in the hospital until delivery. Unfortunately after a week one of the twins had lost a heart beat and the hospital that we were admitted to at the time was not able to give the proper care that Courtney or the second twin needed to ensure them to be as healthy as they could through this process. We were then transferred to UAB where we were on constant monitoring for Courtney and the surviving baby to try and make the pregnancy last as long as possible for the baby to develop as much as possible. We were able to make it up until 31 weeks and 4 days until it became unsafe for the baby to be inside the womb. Trace (the surviving baby) and Sawyer James (who was stillborn) was then born on March 6 where Trace was immediately placed in the nicu unit and we had to undergo every parents worse nightmare and say goodbye to Sawyer who we had to make burial arrangements for. We are currently still undergoing care for Trace who is doing well but still has a long road ahead before we can go home. Courtney was discharged after almost 2 months of being in the hospital and we still have a while until trace is discharged. In that time regular bills, hospital bills, gas, food, and other hospital expenses are beginning to have an impact on us, and we also have some expenses for the funeral cost for Sawyer. We are just looking for a little bit of help to cover some of these expenses from anyone who would like to donate. We are thankful for any help that we can get in this process and hope that things continue to go well for our little boy and that we are able to lay our other little angel to rest to get some closure of his death.
