Chaos's chaotic FIP battle
Donation protected
Chaos was a 2 for one rescue when she wandered into the trap with her brother late one hour hot July night. She was a little bundle of sweetness coated in attitude, which combined was the cutest mix. As a kitten she was always healthy, and I never even had to treat an upper respiratory infection. Things started to change with her health when I had to move to my new house after my divorce. Chaos never dealt with stress or change well, and moving was no different. She started to lose weight, and one spike high fevers. Her bloodwork was suggestive of FIP, but they could not be certain. A recheck 10 days later and the values had only gotten worse.
Originally it was suspected to be a bacterial infection because the fever responded to antibiotics, but FIP was mentioned as a possibility. The ultrasound showed no fluids or abnormalities other than massively swollen lymph nodes. Pathology on the lymph nodes came back inconclusive. 16 days after her first vet visit, and nearly a month since it all started, Chaos spiked a second fever while still on antibiotics. At this point, I was told FIP was highly likely and there was very little we could do.
My baby girl is one amazing fighter, she has been hanging on for over a month fighting this. But her health has started to decline and the signs are painful to watch. Her appetite has decreased significantly and her weight will not hold steady. She has started to lose weight again.
There is an supplement that has shown a tremendous amount of promise in treating FIP. In studies, this supplement is shown to extend the lives of cats with FIP. Some have even reported remission of the disease.

The cost to treat Chaos against FIP will be about $2000 - $3000, depending on what form of the supplement she can tolerate. I am asking for a little help to help a fighter take down a disease that takes away so many pieces of our hearts every year. Thank you ❤
