Hi everyone!
This is something I never thought of doing or asking for. I've been dealing with kidney disease for about 3-4 years now. Never did I think my disease would progress as fast as it did. All while managing with my own illness, my family and I have had to deal with my moms breast cancer for 15 years. She was always the one taking care of us but within the last two years things changed and she become permanently disabled. Due to this my uncle, sister and I become the main support of the household.
Within the last two years, it has been hard dealing with all of this change due to my mom's illness but also at the same time my kidney disease. In the last year my kidney's function declined so quickly that I was in Stage 4 failure within 6 months. I started looking for living donors and campaigning hoping to find a kidney before I had to start dialysis. I got my fistula surgery to prep for dialysis because of the quick decline I have. After multiple amazing people signed up to donate(that I can never thank enough) it turned out that my uncle signed up to be tested secretly. After the multiple appointments and tests it turned out he was my perfect match!!
I could never thank everyone enough for the love and support I have received during this time. The reason I started this is because now that my uncle is my donor things are going to be a little tight for some months. Both of us being out of work for sometime & I'm not sure when I will be able to go back since I work in the medical field. I know medications for transplant patients aren't always covered 100% as well. Thank you in advance to anyone who donates.
