My name is Michelle. My husband Glenn & I are the proud parents of three beautiful girls. Our youngest daughter Chantel has been bed bound for 2.5 years, struck down with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). We have been told by every doctor that there is no cure for ME, which has devastated our whole family.

We feel helpless.

From a vibrant athletic young girl, Chantel’s now suffers with constant pain due to inflammation of her brain, stomach pain, all over ‘aching’ of her body, muscles, and joints. She suffers periodic seizures that have left her hospitalized on many occasions and is now confined to her bed.

When she does get out of bed, it’s considered a good day as her inability to regulate her heart rate and blood pressure when standing for more than a few minutes makes it hard to even get herself to the bathroom.

After 2.5 years of this unrelenting condition, it has taken a massive toll on her mental state and ours. ME is a complicated condition with different root causes, so it is difficult to treat. In our case, it has been multiple herpes viruses attacking the immune system and with no answers yet from the medical community, we are losing hope.

Chantel’s anxiety is ever increasing as her ‘normal’ life has slipped away, almost overnight.

We have spent relentless hours researching on the internet for a medical cure for Chantel.  Our only remaining option, the NeoMed Institute in Cyprus, have a dedicated medical team that has proven results in successfully treating ME. But it comes at a cost.  

As private people, we have struggled with reaching out to ask for help, but now truly need in raising the funds to help our little girl receive this much-needed medical treatment.
