***UPDATE***
Hi guys thank you all so much for the prayers and support so far. Chantel is feeling very loved and supported. She is currently seeing a Gastroenterologist/Internist, an Infectious Disease Specialist a Dermatologist and 2 GP’s. There is no definite diagnosis as yet but they have several working with and she has started treatments and is beginning to respond positively to a few of them. She has developed several new allergies making treatments a bit tricky and still receives most of her medication by IV. It is still a bit early to say for sure what is causing her to be so sick but they are working hard, putting their heads and notes together and running as much tests as possible. Please continue to support and share and help this campaign become fully funded.
Chantel Witter is a missionary in Mandeville Jamaica. She is founder and Director of Practical Empowerment Ministry, a charity that aims to empower families and individuals in need, changing lives one family at a time. Chantel is also a dog groomer, breeder and animal rescuer in her home town. Her love for people and animals motivate her to love, care for and help those in need. In February 2024 several of her pups became sick and that led to 2 months of vet trips, round the clock care, medications and still she watched her babies die 1 at a time. There was not a diagnoses and the pups were treated for several suspected illnesses including Parvo Virus, and tick fever. By April despite their best efforts to save the pups 24 got sick of which 20 died. As you can imaging this was a devastating and weary time for Chantel being the only 1 to play nurse to all these litters day and night. Finally the vet suspected aflatoxin poison and the food they were eating was thrown out and the improvements started. Upon treating 1 of the surviving pups Chantel was accidentally stuck by 1 of the infected needles and this led to her becoming extremely sick 3 days later.. She presented with the same symptoms as the dogs, high fever, hallucinations, vomiting, diarrhea, pain, nausea, tremors and muscle weakness. Its been a painful 5 months for Chantel as doctors have been unable to get her well again. She is unable to keep food or liquids down and has to be on IV fluids almost daily. She has been in and out of the hospital and doctors offices. As you can imagine this has taken a toll physically, mentally and financially as life as she knew it has come to a halt. She needs help to pay her medical bills and get the medications and supportive treatments she needs daily as the doctors a specialists continue to work on getting her better.
