Hello, my name is Pat Bonne, I am asking for your help to get this family through an unexpected tragedy. Chantal was a friend and co-worker of mine for many years.
On January 3, 2026, our community lost a truly extraordinary soul. Chantal passed away suddenly and peacefully, leaving behind a deep void in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Chantal was a beautiful person inside and out — someone with an unforgettable smile, a heart full of kindness, and a genuine love for the people around her. She spent the past 18 years with her life partner, Sheena, building a life filled with love, loyalty, and unwavering support.
She was also a devoted mother to her son Matthew, the light of her life. Chantal loved him fiercely, and nothing brought her more joy than watching him grow. She also embraced Faith, Sheena’s daughter, as part of her family, cherishing the time they spent together — especially recently, as they had just begun working side by side.
Chantal is survived by her father, Terry, and was predeceased by her mother, Corrine, who passed in 2005.
For nearly two decades, Chantal was a beloved presence at **Canada Life Centre**. Her coworkers, friends, and the many customers she met over the years knew her as someone who brought warmth, laughter, and dedication into every shift. She made people feel seen, valued, and welcome — and her memory will forever live on in the arena she helped create a sense of “home” in.
Why We’re Asking for Help
Chantal’s passing has placed significant financial stress on her family during an already unimaginable time. In the midst of their grief, the expenses and sudden responsibilities have become overwhelming. To support Matthew, Sheena, Faith, and Terry as they navigate this difficult journey, this GoFundMe has been created to help ease the burden.
Any contribution — big or small — will make a meaningful difference. Your kindness will help cover essential costs and give the family space to focus on healing and honoring the memory of someone who meant so much to so many.
Those who knew Chantal knew just how special she was. She loved deeply, gave generously, and touched lives simply by being herself. Her spirit will continue to shine through the people she loved and the countless friends whose lives she made brighter.
Funeral arrangements are being planned at Mackenzie Funeral Home in Stonewall, once a date/time is set I will post here.
Thank you for supporting this wonderful family during such a heartbreaking time. Your compassion means more than words can express.
Pat Bonne
