Hello all,

if you know me and Parker, you know our dogs are our babies. Channy has been by my side since 2016 and I’ve had her for almost 8 years. On Friday January 19th, we noticed her acting strange and immediately knew something was wrong. Thank goodness for our intuition, because she was experiencing Gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV) which is a serious condition and is fatal if left untreated. GDV occurs when a dog's stomach fills with gas, food, or fluid and subsequently twists.

Of course with something so serious, comes emergency surgery and immediate need for care. The surgery went very well and she will be at the vet for a few days to recover. We are reaching out to loved ones and even strangers to ask for assistance in paying the veterinarian bills. Without this surgery, Chan would not have made it.

Chandler is my soul dog and has been by my side since I was 21 years old. She has been with me through every move, life event, every tiny apartment, after the Vegas shooting, by my side in grad school and everything in between. I know dogs can’t live forever but I had the choice and I’d do the same over again. It’s unfortunate that it comes at such a cost.
