Channelle Humby - help for funding funeral service

My beloved Channelle passed on 07 February.

I write this with the heaviest broken heart, that my daughter, Channelle, has unexpectedly passed away at only 34 years old. She has left behind four beautiful children. One 14 year old, 12 year old, 8 year old and a 4 year old. She has been released by the coroner, without a cause of death.

It shatters my heart to write this out, as this is an unimaginable reality we are all facing as a family. 

I am currently caring for the children as a single parent, as well as organising Channelle’s funeral. I am humbly appealing to you for any help you can give, as funeral costs are so high, and with the cost of living crisis I really need help.

As a little girl, Channelle was a joy to be around. She was an adventurous child, full of life, fun and energy, and always had a smile on her face which lit up everything around her. She would watch Disney princess videos repetitively and loved to sing and dance in front of the TV.

Channelle suffered with PTSD and Schizoaffective disorder, due to traumatic events that she experienced in her teens. The trauma of these events had inhibited Channelle’s ability to take care of the children and herself. Subsequently, her children were removed from her care when she was only 23.

Whenever she could, although lacking herself, she would donate to charities and encourage people to take care of their mental health. She had sought out refuge at food banks as she was truly suffering.

Her mental health led her to live in a constant state of fear and paranoia that affected her daily. I believe Channelle needed more support and was failed with her mental health care. Because she was of adult age, the professional opinion was that she's fit enough to care for herself.

Channelle's kind-hearted nature has touched many people in this world, but this led to her being exploited multiple times in her life. She truly believed in second chances and seeing the best in people. 

Channelle has left behind her children who are dealing with the heartbreak of losing their mum, and will do for the rest of their lives. And I have the heartbreak of losing my child for the rest of mine. 

If you are unable to donate please share and get the word out, because if our story raises awareness then some good may result from our tragedy. Any action you take will help, and we are grateful to everyone who donates and shares our story.

You all are contributing to giving Channelle a beautiful send off she deserves and, I hope this may prevent a similar tragedy that nobody should suffer.

I would like to note that mental health is serious. It’s not to be ignored. Please take care of your family and friends that may be suffering. As a mother watching Channelle struggle with her mental health pained me, and the pressure was enormous.
