Help take the politics out of abuse & harassment
Donation protected
'Changing Our Headline' has begun to receive an increasing number of disclosures. There is a great deal of work to do so that politics is safe for women - as are our country's workplaces more broadly.
Recently, I have also been touched to have individuals reach out to me asking me for a way to donate to the campaign to support its goals. I had not expected this, so have set the goal at $1,000 for now (edited to $5,000 - thanks T for your advice). Any support would be an honour.
Please be aware that the campaign is in the process of growing, and I am extremely mindful of not making promises that cannot be kept. At this early stage, the campaign's goals are modest - but I hope, achievable. Funds will go towards the three main goals listed below:
Build a campaign team. Women and minorities are often expected to run campaigns at great personal cost - both financially and otherwise. Financial support would allow a team to be built to support the campaign. It is the goal of Changing Our Headline to avoid perpetuating unpaid labour of minorities on social justice campaigns, and work towards remunerating the team fairly. This will allow for those making disclosures to be supported as soon as possible with improved resources.
Grow the campaign. There is significant work to be done to ensure that the campaign meets its goals.* Funds would allow the development and execution of a sophisticated campaign strategy, in response to ongoing political resistance from Parliamentarians.
Produce, manage & disseminate effective campaign materials. This includes, but is not limited to: the production of materials for our website, campaign research & publications, the creation of social media accounts, and costs of letters and postage etc.
*If you wish to read more about the goals of the campaign, please visit: www.changingourheadline.com.
I look forward to working with women to reform our political culture, laws and policies to afford women the safety, respect and dignity they deserve.
Thank you, and I hope to be able to report back with progress soon,
Dhanya
