Artist Legal Defense Fund (Felony Graffiti Charge)

Donation protected
The city of Houston is renowned for its vibrant street art and graffiti scene. Artists have long used buildings, bridges and electrical boxes throughout the city as a canvas to share their art with the public, often finding collaborations with the government along the way.

One such piece of artwork that is particularly celebrated is a bridge painting known as the "Be Someone" painting. This painting has been featured in many advertisements showcasing the beauty of Houston and has historically been used as an art space to express graffiti art. The city profits off of this unique artwork financially as it brings in tourists from around the world, while also creating awareness among locals about the importance of supporting local artists and their endeavors.

I am currently facing criminal charges from the State of Texas (in conjunction with Union Pacific Railroad) for two paintings on the iconic "Be Someone" bridge. It has been argued this action was taken due to safety concerns yet no attempt was made by authorities to reach out or speak to me before applying a serious state jail felony charge. This penalty is not only unjustified but also goes against the city's current initiatives to embrace public art.

It’s me today, who will it be tomorrow?

We should be embracing aspiring entrepreneurs and enthusiasts, not incarcerating them or silencing their creative freedom.

Funds raised will go exclusively towards securing a criminal defense attorney and cover any fines forced upon me. Any help you can offer by donating what you can or sharing this fundraiser would be extremely appreciated!
