Chandrabhanu Bharatalaya Academy is turning 50!

Established in 1973 in Melbourne by Dr Chandrabhanu OAM, our academy is Australia's oldest and most respected Indian classical dance and music institution, offering training in Bharata Natyam, Odissi, Carnatic and Hindustani music and Mrdangam percussion.

50 years ago Dr Chandrabhanu and the late Geoffrey Goldie were responsible for creating a highly dynamic cultural and community centre, which continues to flourish with artistic creativity and performances.

The 50th anniversary year will be commemorated with a two day Golden Jubilee Nrityanjali from 26 - 27 August 2023 at the Darebin Arts Centre, Preston. Your support will enable us to host what will be a spectacular event.
