Help Chandler With Medical & Travel Expenses

This is my son Chandler. Chandler is 18 years old and through his 18 years, he has had close to 100 surgeries, so many that we have lost the exact count. Let me give you a little history....Chandler was born with 3 holes in his heart, one kidney and imperforated anus. He had his first surgery at 2 days old. His 2nd surgery was at age 2 months. His doctors waited until he was 16 months old to perform open heart surgery on him to repair the holes in his heart. They wanted to wait for him to grow because they would have to saw his chest cavity open to perform the surgery. Two of the 3 holes were repaired and Chandler spent a month in Pediatric ICU. Chandler was in an induced coma for a little over a week to give him time to heal from the surgery. While he was in the induced coma there was a breathing tube in place to allow him to breathe. Once the breathing tube was taken out, because of the formation of his trachea it fit snug and caused scar tissue to grow in his airway. Although the heart surgery was a success, Chandler has been dealing with the scar tissue issue in his airway from age one to present. Chandler has gone through trachea reconstructive surgery when he was 7 years old and it did not heal the issue. He has to go every 6 to 8 weeks to have the scar tissue removed so that he can breathe easily and to be able to speak clearly. His airway is 80% closed when the scar tissue is present and only 50% open once it is removed. His airway. opening is the size of a coffee straw when the scar tissue is present. When his airway is closed 80% his life is in serious danger, if he catches a cold, mucus can get stuck in his opening and cut off all of his air. 

Chandler is truly a miracle baby. He pushes through all of his challenges. He doesn't like to be looked at as different and does activities his health should keep him from doing. He is in the marching band which is very difficult for him since it is an activity that requires physical exertion, but you would never be able tell that it is hard for Chandler, because he is a trooper and he is strong. Chandler is on the praise dance team at our church and is an honor student.

Chandler's doctor in Jackson, MS has done all that he can do for him and has referred him to a specialist in Ohio to perform a series of surgeries that will heal him completely from his airway blockage. We are scheduled to travel this month to Ohio for his first surgery. We will be traveling back and forth to Ohio for appointments and surgeries. I am not one to ask for help, I try to handle things on my on, but I am compelled to ask for your help because this is necessary for my son. I am his only parent, my children lost their father a year and a half ago so I am reaching out to each of you to help in any way that you can to help cover medical expenses and travel expenses.
