In Loving Memory of Chanda Davies
Donation protected
Hi everyone, this morning our dear Chanda left this earth after a valiant battle with breast cancer. Chanda passed surrounded by the most important people in her world, her dear husband of 20 years, Josh, her beautiful daughter Kait, who will graduate highschool this year, and her sweet boy James. During her life, Chanda touched so many lives, and in recent years she found her calling for teaching pre-K kiddos with speical needs- a role she was quite gifted at and loved completely. She often said that she would do it for free (and let's face it basically did do it for free). I know many of you reading this can reflect on how special Chanda made you feel during your time together- she had a magic touch for making everyone feel heard, seen and important. It was often easy to forget that she was sick, because she was always more concerned with you and how you were doing. Even in her last months, through any pain and discomfort, Chanda lead with love and kindness. She gave everyone the benefit of the doubt and assumed the best. Chanda loved big and her magic was palpable.
The moment Chanda got her diagnosis, she chose to live every day fully and took every adventure- she, Josh and the kids took the trips, saw the concerts and said the important words. If this all feels so sudden, you are not wrong- our girl lived so beautifully up until the very end. She didn't ask for much, but what she did want was clear - she wants us to keep putting our arms around Josh, Kait and James. She wants Kait to stay on her path to college in the fall and to enjoy her experience. Chanda wants James to keep on his road to self discovery as a budding soccer player and saxophonist in the band. And for her beautiful husband, who she's loved since she was 19, she wants him to have the love and support he deserves as he and the kids navigate their path forward.
So many of you have asked how you can help and I have personally seen the heaps of food, thoughtful gifts and other beautiful gestures you have shared over the past months. On behalf of Josh, Kait, James and everyone who loves them- THANK YOU!
As they move forward on their new path, in an effort to support them to the fullest in giving Chanda the kind of celebration she deserves, sending Kait to college in the fall and everything else that goes with life, please consider a donation here.
Also, in honor of my best friend, my soul sister, please consider how she lived her life and lead with love and kindness.
Love, Leah
