Matthew Chan was born with a heart defect and was scheduled to have a valve replacement surgery later this month. Yesterday (coincidentally his birthday) he became quite ill and has since been been in the ER, and now the ICU. He was initially diagnosed with Pneumonia and then today was diagnosed with an infected Gallbladder. His blood is acidic and many of his blood counts are off and he is not filtering it properly. Due to this, they cannot remove his Gallbladder and his organs, especially his heart, are all very stressed. He cannot be transferred to another hospital until they stabilze him.

Matt's wife, Heatherlee, has been by his side this whole time and has been his rock. They also have three children to care for. They will need assistance with medical, home and food expenses as they take time to care for him and help him heal.
