Can you please take a couple of minutes to read about giving this fur-baby, “Chance”… his second chance? We are asking for some donations to help us care for this abandoned pup. There are three ways to donate: through this GoFundMe, by calling Chance’s vet directly (contact information below), or through Venmo. Chance is such a good little boy and through presumed heartless actions, somebody dumped this little angel on the road. Who knows what his life was like before, but he is a little survivor.
He spent at least two weeks running all over Murrysville and Export, PA. He was terrified and would not let anyone get near him. There was a team of rescue people in Westmoreland County that offered to help trap him. These amazing people constantly volunteer to find lost and abandoned pets. They do this using resources from their own pockets and volunteering endless hours.
Heather Garbowski led the search for this stray. She contacted her friends who volunteered to put drones in the air, put up flyers, and help her bait traps with steak and chicken. With a lot of persistence, they were able to secure the pup who we referred to as “Chance.” He is still a little timid and was covered in ticks, but he is a sweet and docile pup. He is resting easy now.
Chance is staying with Heather for now until we can find his owners (with proof of ownership and searches for their lost pet) or until we can find his forever home. Heather already has 4 dogs of her own and invests a lot of resources into finding lost pets. My name is Maria Sever and with Heather’s permission, I would like to raise funds to help their efforts. This dog was somebody’s responsibility that they just dumped off and now somebody else has to step in to help. Luckily, there is a wonderful team of people who have already invested time and money into helping Chance. Heather is keeping Chance safe in her home, but there will be a lot of expenses involved. She already took him to East Suburban Animal Hospital in Murrysville on 7/29/2025. He is about 2-3 years old. He will need to be neutered, vaccinated, have stool checks, Lyme tests, etc. She will also be getting him microchipped.
Chance is being fed eggs, yogurt, and chicken every 4 hours right now to help him gain some weight back. But soon Heather will have to purchase his kibble as well as collars, toys, flea/tick medicine, etc. We are asking for $800 to hopefully cover all of her expenses. There will always be a need for helping our 4-legged friends and Heather will be helping plenty of pups long after Chance finds a home. We really appreciate everyone’s support and prayers for Chance. If you would prefer to donate directly to Chance’s vet, you can contact them at [phone redacted] (East Suburban Animal Hospital). Lastly, if Venmo is preferred, you can Venmo Maria Sever (organizer of this page) @Maria-Sever and the last 4 digits of the phone number is 8912.
We will keep you posted with information as Chance’s story unfolds. Thank you
