Help Support Chance’s Fight Against Cancer – Again
My name is Taryn, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my younger brother, Chance, and our family, who are facing yet another unimaginable battle.
Chance is only 21 years old, but this is his third fight with cancer. He bravely battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia twice as a child—from age 7 to 14—including undergoing a life-saving bone marrow transplant when his body stopped responding to chemotherapy. We had hoped & thought that chapter was behind him.
But just a few weeks ago, after a series of symptoms and tests, multiple ER visits, Chance was diagnosed with a secondary cancer: Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive bone and soft tissue cancer.
He now faces an intense and grueling treatment plan over the next six months, including:
• High-dose chemotherapy, three days a week, 7 hour days
• Radiation
• Likely surgery to remove the tumor ( this includes having to remove part of his ribs)
• More chemotherapy after surgery
His treatment is being done at the Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre in Calgary, a facility that only offers outpatient care. This means frequent round trips from their home in Blackfalds, Alberta—along with overnight stays, medication costs, and more.
On top of this, our mom, recently lost her job at Peavy Industries and is now his full-time caregiver again, but this also adds another layer of major financial stressors with the long days ahead.
This fundraiser will help with:
• Out-of-pocket travel expenses (gas, hotels, parking)
• Uncovered medical costs (oral medications, injections)
• Daily essentials as they focus on healing, not bills
We haven’t set a specific goal—because every single donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference. If you can’t give financially, sharing this page or sending words of encouragement & support mean just as much.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for being part of this fight with us.
