Chance Shaw, a brother to me taken WAY too soon.
Donation protected
My name is Joe, and I'm trying to raise money for the funeral and cremation costs of someone who was like a brother to me... Chance Shaw. The cremation and funeral will cost 5k$, so I'm not asking for any more that. Investigations are still ongoing as to what the cause of death was, but it was his dad who found him stiff and gone when he came home from work. No parent should have to go through that, or bury/cremate their child. I'm just trying to do all that I can to help his dad and his family raise the money to cover these hard and unexpected costs. If anyone can donate any little bit they can, I know that myself and his family would greatly appreciate it.
Chance was a good man that had just turned 30 years old. He was definitely one of a kind, even if he was a diamond in the rough. His shine never lost its luster, and he always kept that California flair even though he'd moved from there a few years back. He's the kind of man that, it didn't matter if you were family, friend, or even a random person in need, he would literally give you the shirt, or jacket, off of his back even if it was raining or snowing. I've seen him do it. I know there are a lot of people that took a severe hit to the heart when they learned about Chance's death, myself included. He was definitely taken away from us way too soon.
Again, I ask that anyone who can help contribute to this fund, please do. Any and every little bit would be appreciated more than I can put into words. For those of you that can help, his family and myself sincerely thank you.
This next bit comes from Chance's mom:
Chance Allen "Chancie" Shaw, 29, passed away on February 12, 2025, in Noonan, North Dakota. Born on September 23, 1995, in Turlock, California, Chance was known for his infectious laughter, playful sense of humor, and generous spirit. His presence brought warmth and joy to those around him.
A few years ago, Chance and his Dad made the bold decision to leave California behind, embracing a new life in North Dakota. He traded city life for the rugged beauty of the open country,
He initially worked on a pig farm, where he met Joseph Bennett, who became both a mentor but most of all a BROTHER to him. Under the guidance of his Dad & Joe, Chance found direction and purpose, which led him to pursue a career in the oil fields.
Where he found purpose and fulfillment working in the oil fields. With dedication and resilience, he thrived in the demanding environment, taking pride in his hard work and the strong bonds he formed with those alongside him.
More than anything, Chance valued his family and friends. He had an innate kindness that compelled him to help others without hesitation. Whether assisting a friend or lending a hand to a stranger, his generosity knew no bounds. On cold winter days, he would clear snow from porches without seeking recognition—especially for elderly neighbors who might have struggled on their own. His selflessness was not about acknowledgment but about making life easier for those around him.
Chance fully embraced country living, finding joy in its simplicity and authenticity. His warmth and compassion left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Though his time was far too short, Chance's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
