Chance and Lianne Need Our Help

My name is Erin Scalco. Lianne Ochoa has been one of my best friends for over 25 years. Her son Chance is in the hospital with a long road to recovery ahead of him. Here is some info from his aunt Brooke.

“Chance has been sick with off and on fevers and headache the last few weeks with multiple trips to urgent Care and the ER, just to be sent home being told it’s a sinus infection. He went back and finally got scans. He was immediately sent to Children’s Hospital for emergency brain surgery via ambulance. By this point the brain is very swollen with a ton of pus on top of the brain. The Dr said this is very rare to happen where the infection goes up into the brain. They put him on IV antibiotics and had to open his skull to attempt to get the pus out. The Dr had to close him back up without getting it all out because it was just too thick. A repeat MRI shows improvement on that but Chance still has severe swelling of the brain. Now there is a new spot actually inside the brain that might be a pocket of pus forming. Doctors will repeat an MRI in a couple of days. They may have to operate on the brain again to work on that spot. Praying for no more new spots. Chance has face swelling today due to his sinus filling up again. If meds don't work today he will have a procedure tomorrow to clean that out again. He is alert but mainly sleeping. The doctor said he will be there for awhile and that it will be a long recovery.”

I am starting this campaign to help with mounting medical costs and to help with living expenses as Lianne has not left Chance’s side and will likely be off work for awhile.
