Champions Tour dream Scott Pieri

Donation protected
My name is Scott Pieri, I am 50 years old, and I have the desire, work ethic, passion, vision, and most importantly the talent to become a member of the PGA Champions Tour in 2018. My golf journey started when I was 9 yrs. old and has taken me all over the country pursuing this amazing sport. I was part of a High School State Championship at Northrop High School in 1984. I went on to become a 4 year letter winner and Academic All-American at Ball State University. I turned professional in 1991 and entered the golf industry as a career where I went on to win over 35 professional golf tournaments including the prestigious 2003 Indiana PGA Championship. I Monday qualified for 3 PGA Tour events in 1997 (Western Open, Buick Open, and Greater Milwaukee Open) which included me winning the Buick Open qualifier with a course record 65. I returned to amateur golf in 2006 and went on to win 5 Fort Wayne City Championships including three in a row from 2010-2012.
Since returning to professional golf in 2013 I have been focused on 2017, the year I can qualify for the over 50 Champions Tour. I am commited to this quest and have the support of my beautiful wife Holly and daughter Liza. Professional golf is exceptionally expensive and that expense turns out to be a stumbling block to many talented players. It is my hope to raise $15000 for this upcoming year to help in my pursuit of a Champions Tour card. These funds will be used for training expense, equipment, and most importantly entry fees and travel expense. In looking at potential mini tour and regional events to play this summer and fall please understand that entry fees run from $650-$1000 per event. I mean wow! Understand that doesn't include any expenses to travel, eat, etc. and I believe that a week playing one of these events total will run $1100-$1500. I would like to play 5-7 events tuning up for the Champions Tour Qualifying Tournament in November. Champions Tour Qualifying is a $2500 entry and consists of 2 stages of qualifying with the first in Florida/California and the final stage (if made) in Florida for 2017. I believe Champions Tour Qualifying (November/December 2017) will total somewhere around $5000-$6000 for everything. As you can see the expense adds up fast and, with Holly and I doing all of this on our own so far, we decided to reach out to ask for the help of family, friends, and community. Some players have sponsors that will help with the huge expense of this journey but, as of right now, I do not have an interested party.
So I am turning to you, you who are reading this right now, to ask for your help and any gift that you could afford to help me towards my dream. I want you to know that you would be helping an honest man. I want you to know that you will be helping a very competent, experienced player who does have a legitimate chance of making it, I want you to know that you will be helping a man who gets up at 5 am every morning he can to get stretched and get to the golf course to work on his game. I want you to know you are helping a family man that tries everyday to be the best husband and father he can be.
Thank you so much for reading my story, thank you so much for even considering helping me and my family. My dad always taught me to dream big so that is what I am doing. I believe in this journey wholeheartedly and can only say that I hope you do to. Thank you so much.
