Shift Sports: Supporting the Mental Health of Student-Athletes

Purpose
Suicide is now the #2 cause of death among student-athletes. The purpose of this fundraiser is to raise funds for my business, Shift Sports: a social venture focused on the mental and social well-being of student-athletes in a holistic, educational, and sustainable way.

Importance
Student-athletes deserve a safe community to discuss their struggles. Shift Sports is created by a student-athlete for student-athletes, with the majority of the information and support coming from fellow student-athletes.

Fundraising Goal
I am hoping to raise $100,000 to provide more mental health resources to athletes.

As a former Division I athlete who loved my sport of track and field, I came close to becoming part of the suicide statistics while I was in college. If it weren't for my sister's intuition—despite being a few months pregnant and having a toddler—to drive 4 hours after our call to check on me, I most likely wouldn't be here today.

This cause is deeply personal. Athletes are students first, and their passion for sports should not put their lives at risk. They deserve support and understanding.

To honor this fundraiser, I will be running the Honolulu Marathon in December. This effort is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support Shift Sports.

Your support will help us create a safe space and provide essential mental health resources for student-athletes. Together, we can make a difference.

Donate now to support Shift Sports and the mental health of student-athletes. Every contribution counts.
