Charlie is facing severe neutrapenia. He also has massive bone loss in his jaw. We found this out after his tooth feel out.
He has a bone marrow test on Dec. 19 as we have not been able to find the cause.
He receives care at the Hematology clinic in Comumbus. He needs to go back to Boston but we have to get him in a more stable place first.



He was born with a slew of challenges. He has CHD (Congenital Heart Disease) and TEF/EA (Tracheal esophageal fistula and tracheal atresia as well as severe tracheamalasia and bronchia malasia).

Charlie had multiple heart issues which required surgery two weeks after he was born. The doctors at Cincinnati Children’s saved his life on day one, when they had to connect his esophagus. The top ended in a blind pouch and the bottom grew into his trachea. The Lord has been with Charlie from day one, not just day one in the hospital, day one from his creation. We began to rely heavily on Charlie’s prayer group while we were in the hospital with him. It was full of surgeries, complications, good and hard days. Christmas, we had to leave our new baby in the CICU, while we celebrated. It was …hard…..  Without everyone’s prayers I would not have made it, Charlie would not have made it. 

I began to post the needs and prayer requests of other baby’s that needed prayers. These are children I meet through the support groups, or children of people I knew that were hurting, the group began to respond! Prayer after prayer, miracle after miracle the group began to grow. The members are very much a part of each baby’s life. They suffer the pain, and rejoice in the joy that are these kids, and watch as God works in their lives. I have seen God bless so many. We have also experienced heart break in the group and prayed for comfort.As Charlie has grown, he has become stronger, and his heart is beautiful. Along the way he began to “share” his prayer group with other babies in need. No longer was it “Charlies prayer group, it became, “Charlies prayer WARRIORS!”. As I began to post requests from babies from the Moms that I have grown close to.

With your help Charlie packed his bags for Boston to meet Dr. Jennings, a World class surgeon. Charlie is having issues with his TEF/EA condition. His repair seemed to be shrinking. A picture from his last scan below. As you can see his esophagus is very narrow. He was having issues eating and breathing, and especially breathing while eating, due to his esophagus pushing on his trachea. He also has trachemalasia. That means he has a “floppy” trachea. He has had many tests, and the last dilation and procedure did not go so well. Charlie ended up in the ER.

For these reasons, we decided to seek out more complex comprehensive medical care for him at Boston. This is the only place they do a certain surgery that we feel Charlie would need.

 Boston was fantastic and very successful!!

There are many things insurance does  not cover. We’ve been very blessed with support from family and friends.
