The Champion, Ohio Launderama Laundromat was robbed and vandalized by a group of thieves on the evening of May 5th, 2021, after an obvious deviant plan to heist the facility. This has left the family of the late founder, Tab Bernhard, Sr., devastated by the loss from this horrible violation. The family lost the patriarch of their home and business less than 4 months ago at the young age of 55 from a heart attack and now are grieving his loss all over, again, as they try to survive this latest event. The theft is beyond the magnitude of grand theft. It has robbed the family of the ability to maintain the resources for the service. They are committed to continuing the legacy of their great husband and father by continuing the business in the community, which has been beneficial since it's opening in 2012. Tab Bernhard, Sr. built and opened the business with his wife and desired to honor his grandfather and the Champion community. It has been successful and his family remains proud of his service to others, as they carry on in living out his legacy. The robbery has resulted in not only a loss in several thousand dollars, but also in the obstruction of operations of daily business. Every day that it is closed due to waiting on investigations and insurance decisions means that the family is without income and resources to pay the bills, maintain their life, and serve the clients. This is a horrific emotional burden for the family as they desire to continue to sustain function and income for the family's needs. We are seeking only to continue business and help with the loss of paying bills and easing the financial burden to the family as they reopen. This will be so helpful to the family as they continue to grieve and adjust to the loss of this great man and continue living without him. We only seek to help them break even.
