Hello, my name is Aarian Tipton. I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), and therapist. I am a passionate advocate committed to empowering underserved communities. I have been invited to speak at the Black Student Athlete Summit in Chicago, my very first speaking engagement, and I could not be more excited.
At this event, I will lead a session exploring the powerful intersection of athletics, mental health, and identity for Black student-athletes. My goal is to provide actionable strategies that support holistic development, mental wellness, and resilience as these students navigate the unique challenges of being Black athletes in predominantly white institutions, and beyond.
My session will focus on:
The impact of racial identity and representation in athletics
- Balancing the dual pressures of academics and sports
- Identifying and addressing mental health needs
- Cultivating a strong support system on and off the field
- Preparing for life after sports
This opportunity means the world to me, and I am seeking support to help cover travel and participation costs. Any contribution, no matter the size, will bring me closer to sharing this important message with those who need it most.
