Chamaco's Surgery Fund
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Jess here. I'm not exactly sure how to go about this, so bear with me while I ramble, please. As most of you know, (my race track friends) I acquired Chamaco last summer after the Delaware meet ended. He had been a "barn goat" to many trainers before he landed with Team Robb. Long story short, Chamaco is the best barn goat I've ever been around. Every single horse in the barn loves him, some are slightly obsessed.
Now for the boohoo....Chamaco started acting "not right" on Friday afternoon. We don't have any goat vets at Laurel (well, we have one but she's actually at a goat show) but every vet with any kind of goat knowledge came up and tried to help him. After determining he was blocked and we couldn't fix him at Laurel the decision was made to send him to New Bolton. After they saw him today, we now know had we not sent him there he would have died. Chamaco is currently in surgery to remove an unbelievable amount of stones-xray pic included. The vets had high hopes of a full recovery. He has to stay there for 2 weeks post surgery which will put his bill between 3000 and 4000 dollars.
I'm embarrassed to be asking for help, but Chamaco and I sure could use it. Thank you for listening to my rambling, if you're unable to donate please say a little prayer for Laurel's best Goat Loaf. Thanks for reading my novel!
