Hi to all:

It's with many thanks that we announce that we are closing our gofundme campaign "Supporting CHAM Residents/PAs."  The outpouring of support from friends, family, and loved ones has been extraordinary; we're so very grateful that so many have contributed so much.

For over a month, our pediatric residents and PAs have cared for 147 adult patients on the COVID-positive floor on CHAM 8. It has certainly been a trying few weeks, filled with times of uncertainty, frustration, and grief -- but also with episodes of happiness and celebration. Such was the case on Friday, May 1, when we discharged our last COVID-positive patient from CHAM 8.  

Our campaign funds have been used to assist our residents and PAs with services needed by them the most -- principally transportation to and from the hospitals, and meals after they arrive home from their shifts.  When our subways are shut down and our supermarkets close early or require long waits to get inside, assisting our pediatric providers with basic services can go a long way to helping them get through the day.

CHAM is beginning the process of transitioning back into a children's hospital.  But the families we serve in the Bronx now suffer in a way none of us would have imagined a few months ago.  Recognizing the struggles and challenges facing our community, we encourage all of you to consider donating to local community organizations that serve our families, such as Mosholu Montefiore Community Center  (MMCC), BronxWorks , and Part of the Solution  (POTS) food bank.

Many thanks again to all of you for the donations we have used to help our residents, PAs, and staff -- who have cared for old and young, and now return to serving the children and families of the Bronx. It was, is, and will continue to be deeply appreciated.
