I've decided to have my mid-life crisis 20 years early. In addition to swimming SCAR (a 4 day, 40 mile event in 4 lakes - http://www.scarswim.com/) at the end of April  I've decided to attempt the Catalina Channel ( a 20+ mile swim from Catalina Island to LA. Sort of the English Channel of the US, but somewhat shorter and not quite as cold - https://swimcatalina.org/) at the beginning of June. 
This, of course, means that I am 20 years shy of having the mid-life funds to pull this off totally out of pocket. If you would like to be a part of my adventure and help support my crazy summer plans I would be most thankful.
These funds will pay for the chartered boat and all fees associated with the channel attempt.
