Chai’s Hospitalization
Donation protected
Hi, Sadie Lane here. Many of you either know or have seen images of my beautiful Ragdoll kitty, Chai.
She became ill back in February and she ended up at three different veterinarians before they figured out her medical issue. By the time the third veterinarian saw her this week, it was a full-blown emergency and they hospitalized her immediately. She was having colon issues and required sedation, intravenous medication’s and ICU monitoring. They finally got her stable enough for me to bring her home.
She has been mostly sleeping and I can tell she still doesn’t feel well. It will probably take a while for the anesthesia to get out of her system. I gave her the required medication’s and then sat back with the realization dawning on me that this is my life now - daily medicating, and monitoring my pet.
Her condition is one that is life-threatening, if not managed properly. I had a cat years ago with this exact same issue, and it ended up killing her. This time I know that the required medication and monitoring will be lifelong and I have to make adjustments if I see changes in her.
Chai has a positive prognosis for living a healthy life now. I am so very grateful that this was finally correctly diagnosed and my beloved pet is still with us. Whenever I come home she is waiting at the door for me and follows me around with such love and trust in her eyes. I want to do the best I can for her.
Needless to say, I was quite shocked at the cost of the veterinary bills for all of this. So I am reaching out and asking for your help. Not only were her vet bills astronomical, but her lifelong medication‘s are costly as well.
If you can spare a little to help us would be so appreciated. Every little bit adds up and helps a lot. It’s hard for me to ask this of any of you, but I can’t do this alone. Thank you in advance for your heartfelt generosity.
Chai says Meow and Purr to all of you.
