Asking for help is something my friend Tonya isn't use to doing.
She is seriously one of the strongest people I know and hands down is a person that always puts her family and friends first.
It's been almost 2 years since Rich passed away and she has been providing for her two children alone.
A little over a month ago they lost their home. Within 2 days she packed their lifelong belongings up and moved herself, Cherilyn and Nathaniel into a hotel. Her goal, no matter what happened, was to ensure that Cherilyn could complete her senior year in Saugus and Nathaniel could remain with his friends and safety of the community he has grown up in. In the past two years where they have lost so much, keeping some sense of security for her children meant she was still protecting them the best she could.
With this move meant she had to provide $800+ weekly for a hotel room, food without a kitchen to keep them going and while working full time trying to find a place to live that will allow her to keep the kids in Saugus.
Saugus where Cherilyn is a National Honor Society standout, band member and in the midst of her college search.
Nathaniel is a very active member of the YES Youth Empowering Saugus group at the Middle School and recently I saw he may have inherited his dads skills and instincts for computer wizardry!
This week an opportunity came that will allow them to stay in Saugus and leave the hotel.
However, Tonya will need to come up with 1st, last, extra security and a realtor fee, not to mention a moving truck.
From a person who is always giving, I am asking my friends and Tonya’s friends to please help. I can honestly say T has never said no when I needed help and I know she does the same for so many. If you are not able to donate, please share the post because even that will help.
No amount is too insignificant when it comes to helping this single mother keep her family safe and able breath some relieve with the comfort of their own place again.
Thank you!!!
Kathleen
