My name is Jennie van der Helm and I am Chad Thompson's aunt.

Latest Update on Chad:

First of all, we want to thank everyone who has giving to Chad and his family. He is working hard to regain his strength but it is a very slow process. So please keep praying for him.

His doctors have placed Chad's name on the Bone Marrow Registry. He needs a bone marrow transfusion. They are calling for any and all individuals that have O positive blood and willing to have your blood tested to see if you may be a match. He will be continuing the Chemo regiment while waiting for the Bone Marrow transplant. They will have additional expenses because he must be as close to the Chapel Hill as possible.

Chad is a family man and the sole wage earner for his family. This has been devastating for him and his family. He is currently spending a week each of the next four months in the Cancer Center at Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

He has been taking 3 types of chemo treatment. He has been fighting pneumonia and infections of his stomach and intestines. He is on a high-dose treatment of antibiotics to keep his blood from going septic.

This family is in financial difficulties. Like the rest of us, they have daily expenses to continue to pay. If you can afford to help monetarily, it will be greatly appreciated.
