Thirty-one-year-old Chad Moores was diagnosed on February 9, 2021, with a Synovial Sarcoma that one of his oncologists described as the "rarest of rare cancers."

These are extremely rare and aggressive tumors that often go misdiagnosed in young people that seem to be otherwise healthy. Chad struggled for nearly a year before getting in contact with the proper doctors to diagnose the extreme pain he was experiencing, and the large lump on his inner bicep.

About six years ago, Chad noticed a sensitive spot in his upper left arm that was bothered on occasion when he applied deodorant. Chad thought nothing of it because he assumed it was nerve damage from a car accident in 2006 that left a 12-inch plate and 12 screws in his humorous.

Chad's career was in construction, specifically, as an NCCCO Certified crane operator in Operating Engineer's Local Union 103.  With the crippling pain and inability to use his left hand, he resorted to repairing electronics and opened a repair shop in a local flea market to make ends meet. However, in November 2020 another major development further impaired and debilitated him. As a result, he was no longer able to repair electronics due to the pain and immobility in his left arm and hand.

His PCP didn't have another appointment for him until January 19 with a neurologist, and Chad was once again left with excruciating pain and no income to support himself. The neurologist was another dead-end, but thankfully Chad was diagnosed shortly thereafter. Because the diagnosis took so long, Chad has since lost his excellent union insurance and has been forced to use Medicaid. He also has a small food stamp allotment each month. Currently, finances are piling up and he is about to start his first round of aggressive inpatient chemotherapy on Monday, February 15, which lasts five days.

We are asking that you please contribute anything you can to help support Chad and lighten the burden on his family and loved ones during this stressful and scary time. If you can't contribute yourself, please consider sharing Chad's story so that maybe someone you know can help. Thank you for your time, prayers, and contributions.
