On December 2nd Chad was admitted to the Hospital with pneumonia, pleural effusion and had fluid on the inside and outside of his lungs. Doctors tried a thoracentesis to remove the fluid but it was too thick (empyema). They then operated on him robotically, and was able to remove much of the fluid, but not all of it. He currently has 2 chest tubes and has been moved to ICU for a different procedure to prevent another surgery. He has also developed a pnuemothorax. He will be out of work for quite some time.
