Chad Williams - Heart Failure
Donation protected
Beaverton, MI native: Chad Williams, an old high school pal as well a friend to many others that care for him dearly; is a very hard working excellent young man at just 33 years of age needing serious help. Chad woke up one night, mid-Oct, struggling to breathe with flu like symptoms so he went to the local hospital in Midland, MI.
After getting checked out, the physicians determined that he needed further evaluation at a facility with superior Cardiologists. Chad was transferred to the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI where it was discovered he was in serious trouble.
He was diagnosed with:
Ascending Aortic Aneurism - 6.5cm
Mitral Valve Regurgitation
Ventricular Septal Defect
Cardiomegaly
—In simpler terms, serious heart damage and failure.
In order to operate, they had to completely split his sternum. The operation consisted of: A new aorta courtesy of a pig w/ Dracon Sleeve, Transcatheter mitral & aorta valve replacement, and they closed up the large holes between the ventricles.
During the horrific month he spent at the hospital he experienced many side effects, painful experiences and furthered medical issues. The two most notable and appropriate to put on here: Pneumothorax (collapsed lung) and having to be hit with a defibrillator while awake just to get his heart rate to break from 280bpm.
So here we are a month later from the beginning of this nightmare. He will be out of work for at least 4-6 weeks. With his sternum healing and a hole in his side he is completely incapable of taking care of himself. His parents have completely halted their entire lives to maintain a 24hr watch at his house where he will be cared for by them throughout the duration of his recovery.
Let's get 10K together (his insurance deductible is roughly 7k, then we got prescription expenses, loss of income to sort & a little something to help his parents that aren't working to ensure his safety).
I think it is very important to note: Chad has been gainfully employed his entire adult life and has never so much as asked anyone for anything. He is a valued member of his local community. Please take the time to share this story and donate to helping him if possible.
Thank you you for your time.
