Chad Tate was well known for his ability to bring a smile out of anyone, even on the toughest of days. Tragically, after a short but courageous battle with an illness, he passed away on Thursday, January 30.

Chad is survived by his wife Carissa, and his two daughters, Lilly and Violet. Through this GoFundMe, we’re collecting donations to help with the Tate’s financial needs during this challenging time, and to help provide for Chad’s wish that his daughters go to college. His work team is coordinating the campaign, with all donations going to the Tate family and Lilly and Violet’s educational fund.

At BKD CPAs & Advisors, our co-workers often feel more like an extended family, and we will greatly miss Chad’s talents, jokes, and skills at solving Rubik’s Cubes. His speech during the National Office’s United Way fundraising campaign every year was always highly anticipated and guaranteed to get people laughing. Through the humor, though, Chad excelled at framing up the importance of giving—and those who spent any time with Chad knew of his selfless and caring disposition. Chad left an indelible mark on many of us at BKD and we will remember him fondly.
