Chad's Post-Surgery Recovery Support Fund
Dear community, family and friends,
We are reaching out to you in this moment of need for our dear father, friend and partner.
Many of you know Chad as a self-employed master carpenter in our community for over 40 years. He is the father of Jade, Leela, Lyja, Luna, and a grandfather to four. Chad has a heart of gold—he shows up for his community by offering his time, experience, and physical and emotional support. He shows up early, stays late, and does it all with joy in his heart. Chad has also graciously volunteered countless hours to the Burning Man community, festivals, independent artists, zendos, and the NAC community—anyone in need. Now he needs our help to get back on his feet so he can continue to be an integral part of this community.
Chad has been suffering from a back injury that causes chronic pain for almost a year now. He has sought advice from many doctors and undergone assorted treatments, without relief from the constant pain. This has affected his quality of life and ability to work a full day. He is scheduled for spinal fusion surgery on March 13th. Chad's Surgeon has advised that post-surgical healing will take 7-9 months before he can return to carpentry work. This is a long time for him to be without an income.
Chad's expenses during his recovery period will be $20,000. We are asking for financial support so that Chad can continue to pay the cost of his housing, bills and groceries. Donate more than you think you can—$100, the cost of a meal out for many people, will help Chad immensely. Smaller donations also add up quickly, so any amount is greatly appreciated!
Please keep Chad in your thoughts and wish him a return to good health.
Thank you for your kind support and friendship during this challenging time.
