A Kidney & Spare Change Welcome!
Donation protected

In the fall of 2017, Chad was told by doctors at the Mayo Clinic that his one remaining kidney was not functioning properly. Due to the numerous anti-rejection medications that he takes daily, Chad was diagnosed with end-stage kidney disease and told that a kidney transplant would be required in order for him to survive. In recent months, Chad was placed on the National Kidney Registry and is now awaiting a donor match. Unfortunately, he faced a setback in recent weeks with a diagnosis of oral shingles, leading to severe dehydration that further damaged his kidney. CHAD IS NOW IN FULL KIDNEY FAILURE, AND IN DESPERATE NEED OF A TRANSPLANT! FOLLOW THE LINK TO LEARN MORE...

Chad and Natalie find it difficult to ask others for help, and have been trying to fight this battle quietly and on their own. At this point, neither of them can bear the weight of their every day financial and emotional stressors, and the challenges which lie ahead. Therefore, they have given me permission to share Chad's story and ask for your help.

The transplant process is long, complicated and costly for both the transplant donor and recipient; with multiple visits to Mayo Clinic prior to a transplant, and overwhelming care post-transplant. Chad will need to remain living in close proxemity to Mayo after his surgery for at least a month to be monitored and receive post-surgical therapies. This living expense is not covered by medical insurance & will put additional financial strain on their family. Both he and his donor (living donor) will be recovering for several weeks and unable to work.

At this point, Chad is working intermittently ( as his health allows) and does not intend to return to work full-time until after his transplant. I know that Natalie and Chad would like to help out the donor family as much as possible, for their selfless act and giving Chad the gift of life. Funds donated through this site will be shared with the donor's family, and used to support their pre and post transplant journey.
My hope is that we can join together as a community to support Chad, Natalie, Addie and Preston during this extremely difficult time. Your generous contribution will help diminish the weight of the financial burdens faced by both Chad's and the kidney donor's families. Eliminating this stress will allow for their families to focus on a healthy recovery for both patients.
If you know Chad personally, you know that he has never let his illness define him. He lives each day to its fullest, and always puts others before himself. He is a loving husband, devoted daddy, a thoughtful son, a dependable brother, the funny uncle, and a lifelong friend. He is selfless by nature, hardworking, strong, a self-taught musician, a lover of slap-stick comedies, a trivia buff, an avid golfer, and most importantly an INSPIRATIONAL SURVIVOR!!!

On behalf of Chad, Natalie, Preston, Addie and our entire family THANK YOU for your love and support.
