Chad Medellin

Hi, my name is Kayla, and I am writing this on behalf of one of my best friends, Chad and his family. Chad unexpectedly passed away this morning in his family's home in Saint Paul, MN, at the age of 32. Chad leaves behind his mom and bestfriend,  Lisa, his dad Joey, sisters Lexi, and Liz, brother Ryan, his niece Bella, his daughter Shailee, and  his grandparents, Jake and Colleen. 

Chad and I met when I was 12 years old. We instantly became great friends, and throughout the years, of preteens to adults, we always remained close. Chad was one of the smartest people I had ever met; and also one of the most outlandish. He used his book and street smarts to his advantage whenever he was able. Chad had received a degree in welding, helped open a successful music and coffee shop, and started his own tech repair company, all before 30.

Chad grew up on the West Side with his cousins as his best friends until late elementary school, when he moved to Oakdale. He made a name for himself in Oakdale as being a funny skater kid who didn't take any shit. He kept the West Side within him, even in the Suburbs. Once in high school at Tartan, he was a swimmer and a musician. Chad also had a part time volunteer gig, which turned into a job, at the Science Museum of Minnesota’s YSC. Chad had friends in almost every clique because he was a personality and laugh you wanted to be around.

If Chad ever made you laugh or second guess authority, you experienced the fantastic person he was.

Funeral arrangements will be announced ASAP; I created this fundraiser to help the family with some financial stressors of this heartbreaking situation because Chad was not currently working, nor did he has any type of insurance to take the burden off his family.

 

Chad will be missed, so, so much.
