Chad lost his leg but he’s not “defeeted”

Hello All,

We are Anna Oswalt, Beth Scott, and Lee Carole Poe. At this time, we have a very special request. We are pleading for help for some very dear friends of ours, Chad and Micki Powers, lifelong residents of Paragould, Arkansas. Anyone that knows them, loves them. They are in dire need of our help. Chad had to have his right leg amputated below the knee. He will have several weeks of healing before they can start the process of fitting him for a prosthesis. Afterwards, he will have to spend much time in therapy learning to walk correctly on his new leg. The whole ordeal began in January of this year with a pin-size hole in his foot. Then he started getting blood blisters and the earmarks of infection were detected. Chad was on antibiotics and went to the hyperbaric chamber in order for healing to take place. Unfortunately, healing did not occur and his foot continued to deteriorate to the point that on one side of his foot you could see fatty tissue, sinew, and bone. All through these trying times, through the pain, through the numerous efforts to save his foot/leg, Chad wore a cast boot, a smile, and continued to work. It is amazing to see the pictures of what he dealt with, yet diligently made the effort to be cheerful and provide for his family with Micki by his side supporting him every day.

We are encouraging everyone to join us in rallying around Chad and Micki to help them with their bills. This surgery has resulted in them going from two incomes to one . Chad is a carpenter and cabinet maker of 30 years. Micki has been the office manager for a pediatrician until time away from work, caring for Chad, recently resulted in the loss of her job. They have diligently fought to save Chad‘s leg, but sadly lost that battle. If we all pull together we can help them win this war!! Our plan is to pay their most basic expenses while they work to get Chad back on his feet. If you’re not financially able to help, then we ask that you pray because we know that the prayer of the righteous availeth much. They have months of stress, pain, battles, tears, etc that our love and support can enable them to not only survive but thrive.

Thank you in advance for any help you can give...prayer, financial support, or simply sharing this post.
