At the end of August 2015, Chad and Kate’s world turned upside down when pain in Chad’s back turned out to be cancer. Further testing revealed it to be stage 4 lung cancer that had spread to the spine, ribs, pelvis, and brain.
If you know anything about Chad, you know that he is willing to battle the odds and be successful. He’s got the strength to overcome -- a true competitor, a champion. For four years, Chad has been fighting as the underdog, with relentless faith to win the battle. His strength, love for his family, and unwavering faith in God in the face of this trial is admirable.
Despite four years of surgeries, radiation, chemotherapy and endless side effects and trips to the ER, the cancer has continued to grow and is widespread throughout his body.
Not knowing what the future holds, Chad and Kate are treasuring their time together, with their kids, and as a family. This summer, they are hoping to enjoy a couple adventures to the Black Hills and the Creation Museum in Cincinnati, Ohio.
