In October 2017, our son, Chad Adrians, was diagnosed with SinoAdrenal Carcinoma (malignant cancer within his sinus cavity). Chad had struggled with sinus infections and headaches for quite some time and was eventually scheduled to have what doctors thought was nasal polyps removed to help with his breathing and pain.Unfortunately, the ENT doctor at the time of surgery discovered it was much more and he was referred to Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN where his diagnosis and treatment plan was made. Chad took a leave of absence from work in December as did his wife Angela to be with him and take him back and forth to treatments in Rochester. He had brain surgery in December to remove the tumor and started 6 weeks of chemotherapy and radiation.
On March 9th, 2018, Chad got to ring the bell at Mayo indicating his treatments were complete. He was able to return to work and go back to doing the things he loved......hunting, fishing, roofing and spending time with his wife, son, family and friends.
MRIs and blood work have been done each quarter since then as ordered by the doctors.
In January 2019 with his follow-up visit at Mayo, no signs or symptoms of Cancer were detected.
Five weeks later (late Feb 2019), Chad started having extreme constant headaches and pain in the top portion of the left side of his head.
Based on his continued symptoms, he had additional tests run where doctors then confirmed that the Cancer had metastasized to a few spots in his head with the main concern being the large mass located on the left side of his brain affecting his right side motor skills.
Doctors have told him that it is not possible to surgically remove the mass due to its location. It was decided to attempt a radiation treatment in an attempt to reduce the size of the mass to improve his motor skills. They have told us this is by no means a cure. It is a chance to give him some extra time, improve his motor skills and to hopefully get back to doing some of the things he enjoys most pain free.
Please help me and my family to support our son Chad as he goes through this heart wrenching battle. Chad has touched the lives of so many people in so many different aspects of his life. Chad and Angela have never been the kind of people to ask for help, but I have told them there are so many people who have asked how how they can help.
Please consider donating to help them if you can. I ask that you say a prayer for them as well. Any donations will be directly used for outstanding medical bills, travel expenses and everyday costs as Chad is unable to work. His wife, Angela, has also had to take a leave of absence so she is able to care for him as this disease progresses and his day to day needs increase. Their son, Jayden, is finishing up his second year at Iowa Lakes Community College. He will be coming home in a few weeks to help and be with his mom and dad.
We will also be establishing a direct bank account for donations for those that prefer not to use the Go Fund Me account. More info to come on that.
Thank you and God Bless. Hugs to you all for your support and kindness in all ways.
Mary Adrians
