Let's Charge into the Storm with Chad Ackerman

Donation protected
In October of 2021, Chad received the shocking news that he had Cancer.  Over the past 3 months, Chad and his wife Marcie have been visiting Doctors in Virginia, Massachusetts, and Texas for testing and consultation trying to pinpoint the exact type of cancer he has in order to develop a plan of attack. The testing revealed that Chad has Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) however,  it was discovered that he also has chromosomal abnormalities which make some of the traditional methods of treating cancer less of a viable option. After months of intense research, testing, and discussions with his family Chad has decided to start a Clinical Trial at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston Texas.

Anyone that knows Chad would tell you that he has an extremely deep passion to help others any way he can. Chad has that gift of helping. This has been demonstrated time and time again over the years. Chad has always gone “above and beyond” when his family has needed him. He is always there to help support family and friends through life’s challenges. He has dedicated a great amount of time to coaching and he has been an amazing mentor to others. He will be the first to volunteer to help you with a project. The list goes on and on…

Individually, Chad is as tough as they come. He thrives on personal challenges and has accomplished incredible things in his life. It's only fitting that Chad has adopted “Into the Storm” as his motto to help him conquer this new challenge. Into the Storm is a great metaphor for how to be resilient and deal with adversity in life. It refers to how Buffalo respond when a storm is approaching. The Buffalo Charge into the storm as it approaches and they run straight through it, minimizing the amount of pain, time, and frustration they experience from the storm.

As Chad takes on this newest challenge it is inevitable that he and his family will incur financial hardship. Along with costly medications Chad will be required to travel back and forth to Houston several times throughout each month of treatment.

Like most people that spend their whole life helping others, it’s not natural for Chad to ask for or receive help.  Well, it’s his turn now and I’m sure he will get over it.

If you have the means please help lessen the burden on Chad and his family so they can focus all their efforts on charging “into the storm” to the other side.
