CHAC Gallery needs your support

Since 1978, the Chicano Humanities and Arts Council (CHAC) Gallery has been a landmark in the Chicano Arts community and a cultural hub to the greater Chicano and Latino Community in the Greater Denver area.  Recognizing a need in the community for Chicano artists who felt disenfranchised and ignored by the mainstream arts community, CHAC was created to celebrate Chicano and Latino culture through arts and education.

Over the years, in addition to being home to local Chicano artists such as Daniel Luna and Stevon Lucero,  CHAC has provided thousands of education programs serving underprivileged youth in the Denver metropolitan area. Currently, we provide permanent after-school arts and crafts programs for at risk youth in the Lincoln park neighborhood with the Bridge Project and the Girls Athletic Leadership School. We also host many in house art programs such as sugar skull workshops during Dia de Los Muertos, and a variety of other cultural workshops that highlight the artistic aspects of the Chicano/Latino culture.  Our efforts have been ongoing to elevate our adult and children's education programs to further educate on what Chicano means to the community such as ongoing mural projects, lecture series, and mentor programs. CHAC is committed to continuing our outreach to local schools, libraries, universities and other organizations in order to teach and share our beautiful culture!

Unfortunately, we recently found out, unexpectedly, that the building where we operate is being sold as property values in the Santa Fe Arts district have skyrocketed. We will no longer be able to afford this space and are being forced to find a new location.

CHAC is making the move to just a few blocks south where the rent is only double what we are paying now. Because of this move we are asking for your support to help us sustain our efforts in maintaining our mission of celebrating Chicano Latino Culture through Arts and education during this transition.

Thank you for your continued support throughout the years and in the years to come!
