Chabad of Greater Los Feliz Security Campaign
Tax deductible
BH
Six months ago, in Pittsburgh, the Jewish community was shaken to its core by the senseless murder of 11 fellow Jews in prayer by a vicious anti-Semite. Again, this past Shabbat, a repeat of this murderous anti-Semitism reared its ugly head at the Chabad of Poway. As a people and a nation, our hearts broke by this senseless act of hate and violence. Anti-Semitism is on the rise. It is with great sadness, that we must look ourselves in the mirror and ask, what are we doing to protect our congregation from a sick individual in our own backyard?
My name is Coby Goodman – member of Chabad of Greater Los Feliz, and most importantly parent of two kids in Chabad Hebrew School. The mission at Chabad of Greater Los Feliz is to promote and strengthen Jewish awareness, pride, and observance, by providing educational, cultural, and social activities to all Jewish individuals and families regardless of background or affiliation, all in a safe and nurturing environment
Sadly, we are now faced with the difficult challenge of improving our security to make sure that all of our hundreds of members are safe and secure as Americans and Jews.
As you may have noticed, the Synagogue has been paying for armed security for the past 2 months, out of funds allocated for other projects, and now humbly and with the greatest of respect I am asking you for your help to immediately improve the security of our Synagogue and make sure such a tragedy never happens on Hollywood Blvd. on our watch.
We are seeking to raise $30,000 in total to improve the safety of our members while they are in prayer and study at our facility, while our kids are studying, while the women are meeting. This will include armed security professionals for all events, every Shabbat, Hebrew School, and any time we gather as a community.
Let me be clear, 100% of the funds raised in this campaign will be going specifically and exclusively to security for one year.
Your donations will be used as follows:
MOST URGENT, Phase 1:
Armed Security for 1 year for all events $26,000
Ongoing, Phase 2: $4,000
Upgrade Hardware (including iPad for Security only)
Active Shooter training
Miscellaneous security associated costs
Thank you in advance for your possible interest in helping us - may G-d bless you and your families with the safety all Americans deserve.
