HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED FOR AMERICAN ON FOREIGN SOIL

My name is Darren Allridge, an American citizen originally from Fort Worth TX. For the past 5 years, I've lived in the Philippines. Trying to make a life change after many tragic issues in my life that left me scarred as a young man, I found it hard to cope with life’s adversities after witnessing two of my brothers being executed by the State. The difficulties from simply enduring that trauma has been more than I thought I could bear but by the grace of God, I’m here. I moved out of the country for a change of scenery and to stop revisiting painful places. Hoping to work through PTSD and numerous thoughts of suicide that I was never able to be treated for. These things plagued me for many years. Once I moved here to the Philippines, I felt I could get a fresh start. A simple life with little to nothing maybe write my books and live simply with no visual reminders of my past. I had acclimated to the climate, the people, the simple living, with monthly expenses of about $1000 per month, including rent, food, and basically everything else. It may sound peculiar, but with no children or wife, that's my typical monthly budget. Taking odd jobs here and there but getting by until that day on February 1, 2024, I took a ride on the back of a motorcycle equivalent to an (Uber) in the U.S., going to get something to eat and the driver was making a left turn when a truck ran into the back of the bike we were on.

It was caught on video and I was taken to the nearest hospital where I was bleeding internally with a broken arm and five broken ribs and contusions and lacerations. I was put on a gurney in a hospital hallway where I was left to continue bleeding to death because it is completely cash and carry here in the Philippines. I would have bled out in that hallway had It not been for good Samaritans, who had become friends I had bonded with years earlier. They raised just enough money to get me medical attention or I would have died on that gurney. The photo shows my blood on the floor beside that bed. I ultimately lost two liters of blood while in the hospital. The patch on my abdomen is where the tube drained the infection from my body. I am grateful for those good Samaritans that helped me and am lucky to be alive. I have never met a stranger and truly that attitude saved my life. Now that I am out of the hospital, I cant work, cook or walk for any considerable distance. My expenses, though meager compared to other countries, are mounting up. I need help and ask that if it is in your means or heart to support at this time it would be a blessing. My monthly expenses amount to one thousand dollars per month due to needing someone to cook and help me bathe and do laundry. Her salary of roughly $15 per day sounds low to our "American ears" but I can assure you it's considerably above the pay of most working in the city and the minimum wage. I’m on pain pills I may not be able to afford much longer and may need to break them in half to extend them. I cannot afford physical therapy therefore I will have to do as much as I can on my own. The truck that hit us is refusing to pay and has an attorney to protect them.

I've hired an attorney, but the legal system here is slow and victory doesn't always mean compensation. It's hard to heal when you are worried about where your next meal may come from, but I have faith and I remembered the story about the “Good Samaritan” and how a stranger literally saved a man's life. I am now asking for help to save mine. Please consider donating something today to help. I know you may not know me, but there may come a time when you need the help of strangers to open their hearts to you. My goal is to one day give back to someone else in need. I thank you in advance and from the bottom of my heart for any and all contributions that have been made or will be made. Thank you so much.

God Bless you
