Ferdinands' Turn for Help

Donation protected
I'm not quite sure how to start this because there are so many thoughts and emotions as this journey started just a short time ago - First off my name is Tabitha- and I'm starting this GoFundMe for Rich (Richie) Ferdinand!

Who is this Richie I speak of-- a kind, gentle, hard-working, outdoorsman, husband, father, "papa", White- Sox fan, golf fanatic, gardener, cook, cabana boy,  obsessed with Crocs (yes that goofy shoe!) He's a man with the biggest- giving heart of gold  you could imagine.
Not only has he personally helped me in life, but Richie and his wife, Pam ( they just celebrated the big 40 wedding anniversary!!)  have helped our community and families and friends all over in more ways than one. Always doing benefits  for others in need or the family fund event for the families in town, his church events , counseling session for us " young folks"  you name it they have  helped in  all aspects of life!
So what better way to be able to Help them in their biggest time of need right now!

Rich and Pam were in Florida when Rich began having health issues (none to which we would ever expected to come to the degree they have) -- after many doctors appointment, and hospital visits it was found that Rich had cancer-- and to get him home as soon as possible.

They began their journey home just a few days after receiving this news not knowing much and hoping and praying to get into a doctor at home in Illinois as quick as possible-- with very good help-- Rich was seen quickly after returning home,

After being seen he was diagnosed officially with stage 4 esophageal cancer that is incurable.  Rich's cancer is more aggressive than was originally thought. The cancer has almost completely encompassed his liver and is evident in some lymph nodes and bones.

The results show that his life expectancy may be lower than we originally thought, however no true estimation can be made until he begins his chemotherapy. The doctor feels that within about 2 months he should be able to make a better estimation.

Knowing this news was very hard to hear as this strong man still on the go was suddenly halted by that dreaded 'C' word that would quickly slow him down- but we're not letting that happen-- He got many tests to ultimatly get this diagnosis which has taken lots of time, patience, and care to get this far in such a short amount of time --

They are not letting this stop his social life as they love visitors and the company, although he is tired  and needs his rest to keep fighting and letting the Chemo do it's job

ALL Rich and Pam have asked out of all of this is Prayer-- as I wish everyone continues to Pray for Rich, Pam and their family (Two beautiful daughters and their families- Coye, Tommy, Eliahs and Shiloh, and Kelly and Kerry -- who have been spending lots of time traveling to and from their homes to spend this time with their dad and "PaPa" to be their for appointments, treatments, and as physical and emotional support ) --

Iwant to do something for them as they have for me and a LOT of other people-- I want this page to help with their unexpected medical costs that have come because of this, I want this to help with the gas to get to and from treatments at Kishwaukee Cancer Center,  I want this to help cross of the bucket list items that he can still accomplish, I want this to show them we can give them as much love, care, and help they have given to me and everyone else they've ever crossed paths with.

As hard of a battle this is for Rich and his family-- as amazing friends, family, and companions everyone has been to them in this journey of life-- positive vibes, prayer, and whatever donation your heart can give to help give them a boost along in this journey they are now on!

Thank you!!
We love you Richie-- Keep Fighting!
